Experience the Best of Vietnam in 9 Days: A Bespoke Travel Itinerary

If you are looking for a bespoke, one-of-a-kind travel experience, Vietnam is a destination that should definitely be on your radar. With its fascinating history, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant culture, Vietnam is a country that has something for everyone. Here is an itinerary I just did for a client who traveled to Vietnam this spring for a 9-day Vietnam trip that truly blew this experienced travelers mind:

Day 1: Hanoi

Your adventure begins in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. After arriving at the airport, you will be transferred to the luxurious Capella Hanoi, where you can relax and settle in for the evening.

Day 2: Hanoi

Today, you will explore the city of Hanoi with a professional photographer who will show you new photography skills while capturing the highlights of the city. Visit popular landmarks like the Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi Opera House, and the historic Old Quarter while taking in the vibrant culture of the city.

Day 3: Tho Ha Village

A 45-minute drive from Hanoi and a short ferry ride across the Cau River will take you to Tho Ha Village in the Red River Delta. The village is known for its picturesque landscapes and traditional Vietnamese lifestyle. You will enjoy conversation and play traditional Vietnamese music with one of the local residents to gain insights into life in the village.

Day 4: Halong Bay

Transfer to your boat charter via Heritage Cruise Line on Halong Bay, where you can explore the stunning landscape of limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Enjoy lunch on deck before visiting the mysterious Tien Ong Cave, which is said to resemble the shape of a frog's mouth.

Day 5: Hoi An

Fly to Anantara Resort in Hoi An, where you can relax and soak up the sun on the beautiful beach or explore the charming streets of Hoi An.

Day 6: Cam Kim Island

Depart from Hoi An for a leisurely boat ride along the Thu Bon River to Cam Kim Island. Exchange the boat for a bicycle and cycle through winding village roads while enjoying the idyllic countryside scenery. Visit the peaceful village of Tra Nhieu, which has retained many typical features of Vietnamese livelihoods.

Day 7: Ba Na Hill

Discover the natural beauty of Ba Na Hill from Hoi An. Drive about 1 hour and 15 minutes from Hoi An downtown to Ba Na Hill. You will have the opportunity to explore the old-growth forest, which has 543 species of flora and 256 species of fauna, including many rare animals such as the Crested Argus and Asian Black Bear.

Day 8: Saigon

Travel to Saigon via a quick flight and check into the luxurious Park Hyatt Saigon. You can spend the afternoon exploring the vibrant city, shopping for souvenirs, and trying the delicious local cuisine.

Day 9: Saigon

On your last day, start your tour into historical wartime Saigon sights with a visit to the shrine outside of the US Consulate followed by the former CIA building (outside visit only). Then head to the rooftop café of the iconic Rex Hotel, for a drink and a spectacular view of downtown Saigon as your guide explains the hotel’s place in history.

In conclusion, this 9-day Vietnam trip is an ultimate experience for anyone looking for a bespoke, one-of-a-kind travel experience. From exploring the vibrant culture of Hanoi to discovering the natural beauty of Ba Na Hill, this trip has it all.
